what the heck is a waterknot?
At Period Six, we take pride in offering products that resonate deeply with our customers, and for nearly a decade, Waterknot has been a cherished part of our collection. We've had the pleasure of watching this wonderful company grow and blossom, and we are excited to share the latest addition to their lineup: stunning prints of their beloved artwork.

a journey through time.

Since we first introduced Waterknot's beautiful cards, they have consistently been a favorite among our customers. If you've ever turned over the cards at Period Six, you've surely seen a fair share Waterknot logos on the reverse side. (And if you're the type of person who always turns over their cards to find out who designed it, you're our kind of paper-person! so glad you're here!)

Each card is a work of art, meticulously designed and inspired by the beauty of nature and the majesty of our national parks. Waterknot's commitment to quality and their passion for the outdoors shine through in every piece they create.

what's a waterknot?

Our store front is neighbors with a busy climbing gym, so likely, some of you all ready know. A waterknot is used by climbers to tie two pieces of nylon webbing together. Its beauty lies in its strength and simplicity. It is practically fail-safe. The more force applied to pull it apart, the tighter it becomes. We love this as a metaphor for strong, clean design—just like the designs Josh Nusbaum creates.

the growth of waterknot.

Over the years, Waterknot has evolved from a small greeting card company into a thriving artistic brand. Their journey is a testament to their dedication to their craft and their ability to capture the essence of the natural world in their designs. We've loved seeing how they've expanded their offerings and refined their artistry, always maintaining the highest standards.

With over 19 years of experience as a professional graphic designer and illustrator, Josh also holds degrees in Art, Environmental Studies, and Graphic Design. As a business owner and creative professional, he understands the needs of his clients and consistently delivers on time and on budget.

When he's not creating designs and illustrations of America's wild places, Josh can be found skiing, hiking, rafting, sea kayaking, playing guitar, or exploring parks and campgrounds with his family in their pop-up trailer.
