Have you ever had just a pink dip taste of something that sparks a whole bunch of ideas? That's what happened to me after trying Meadowland Simple Syrup's Golden Age Simple Syrup. The blend of  cardamom, honey, and sea salt, had me wanting to make cold foam on my iced coffee with it, add it to a sipping whiskey, and to lick out the sample cup if we're being honest! 
Meadowland is a collaboration between Katie Daisy and Kathy Irwin, based out of Bend, Oregon. Both work together to develop unique and delicious flavors that are deeply inspired by Katie's rural upbringing on the prairie. They hope their simple syrups conjure feelings of joy, wonder, and warm memories of seasons past.
Between the decadent flavors, inspiring combos, and beautifully whimsical packaging, I knew we needed these at Period Six! 
We can't wait to see what they inspire to gift or concoct. Enjoy a simple Strawberry Basil Cocktail recipe below.

Strawberry Basil Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz strawberry basil simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • Club soda
  • Ice
  • Fresh basil and strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the vodka, strawberry basil simple syrup, and lime juice.
  3. Shake well until the mixture is chilled.
  4. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
  5. Top with club soda and stir gently.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil and strawberry slices.
