One of our favorite artists here at Period Six is represented by Allport Editions card company. Father Arthur Poulin, a monk and the only artist at Allport Editions, resides at Incarnation Monastery in Berkeley, California, and aims to reflect the sacred beauty of Creation through his art. Known for his intricate, pointillist landscapes reminiscent of the Impressionists, Father Poulin draws inspiration from his travels and his surroundings in the Bay Area—up to 25 layers of black gesso and thousands of precise brushstrokes to create his unique acrylic paintings.
